A Gingerbread House Card!

Hello friends!  It’s Debbie here today to share a fun Christmas card with you today.  I think nothing says Christmas more than a gingerbread house.  Whether you make it with dough or paper, they are just so cute and a favorite of mine.    You can make beautiful gingerbread houses using the Dimensional 747e Gingerbread House Die Set.  But there is more you can do than just make dimensional  paper gingerbread houses.  Using the Gingerbread House Die set, it’s easy to create this cute card!

Supplies Used:

This is the die set I used to create my card.  The 3d gingerbread houses you can create with this die set are super adorable.  But I love to use my supplies in more than one way and decided a card would be super cute!

This card measures 5 x 7″.  To create the base, you need to cut the kraft cardstock to 7 x 10″.  Score and fold this and set it aside until you are ready to build your houses!  Cut a few strips of white cardstock to 3 x  6 1/2″.  Using the Tim Holtz Mini Rotary Cutter and the glass mat, cut the white strips to look like hills and valleys.    Vary the hills and valleys so that they aren’t the same.  You will need three strips like this.

Now it’s time to die cut the gingerbread house fronts.  You will need two whites and one from kraft cardstock.  Then you will need to die cut the detailed fronts of the houses.  You will need one white, one red and one kraft.  Be sure to cut away the 4 strips along the sides and the bottom rectangle.  Those pieces are when you make a 3d house.  For this card, we won’t use those.  Also cut some small strips of cardstock to use along the edges of the houses.

Adhere the strips of cardstock along the edges of the houses using the Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  This is also a good time to adhere the gingerbread man and the trees into place, too!

Now it’s time to adhere a strip of the white cardstock and a house.  Starting in the left top of the card base and ending at the right bottom corner.  Once everything is adhered into place, add the Nuvo drops to the houses, gingerbread man, tree and to the white hills and valleys.  I also added the Nuvo White Blizzard to the top of the houses and to the white strips so that its was sparkling and looking a bit like snow.  Add the sentiment in the top right corner to complete the card.

I really love how this card turned out.  The 5×7″ sized card works really well for this and I love the size!

Thanks for stopping by today!
