October is here and it’s the season of pumpkins! Here’s a simple tutorial to make your own paper pumpkins to decorate your house.
Supplies you will need:
- Essential Stencil- Layered Hexagon
- Craft Perfect- Kraft Brown Card
- Tim Holtz Shears 9.5 inch
- Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Aquamarine
I started by cutting out a rough circle shape from my 12 by 12 inch cardstock using the Tim Holtz Shears 9.5 inch. This does not have to be perfect we just a wonky circle like shape.
Next, draw a smaller circle in the center and cut pizza slice like shapes from the outer edge. See the two photos below, they explain it much better than my pizza analogy 🙂
Now fold the outer edges in, overlapping them slightly to start forming the pumpkin shape.
Using a stapler, staple all the overlapping paper strips close. Adhere the last strip into place.
To decorate the pumpkin, cut out a stalk shape from kraft cardstock, a leaf shape from green cardstock and then cut a thinner green stalk and twist to look like a vine.
Add some detailing to the leaf with a stencil and embellishment mouse. The aquamarine blue color of the mousse looks so pretty on the green!
Finally adhere the stalk, leaf and vine onto the pumpkin shape! And the paper pumpkin is ready!
Make a bunch of these to decorate your mantle, table or anywhere in your house!
